Hello. Lama tak bersiaran hshshs. Post ni aku copy pastes from LinkedIn aku btw, so all in English this time. Let's begin~
(I just realized I have a draft on this, so let's post it; this will be a long post).
1st September 2021. Today marked my (almost) last month with Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) as a PSH. I saw an opening on their Instagram, I got the interview, and I got the placement. I was placed for the INSP MIHAS 2021 under CWSAA Section from April-October 2021 (6 months). Today was also the last day for the INSP MIHAS 2021, and we did it. We surpassed the KPI sales despite the challenging pandemic COVID19 situation and facts; this was the first time INSP MIHAS was held fully virtual!
It was an incredible journey; working with my amazing bosses & learning so much from them would be the most exciting experience for me. By updating, doing data gathering, and monitoring all the business matching and business meetings, I can see how evolving the trade between Malaysia and other countries was. Not only that, I've also been given a chance to conduct business meetings by matching the Malaysian sellers and foreign buyers. With that, I am able to communicate with MATRADE overseas officers, sit in the meeting room together & learn how business has been made. I saw many exciting & valuable information exchanges there, & it was a great learning platform. Not to forget, the weekly reports needed to be sent & the final report to be submitted, marking our achievement throughout the five months process.
Getting the chance to work with different officers from different departments makes me learn so much & how to communicate better & address any issues/difficulties in a good way. Everyone has their working style; thus, it is an opportunity to seek out new perspectives.
Finally, I can emphasize the cross-cultural. As MATRADE is an international trade organization where they work closely with foreign countries, thus, when you're having meetings with the foreign buyers or communicating with the TC/ATC/Marketing Officer, sometimes they will talk about the country's culture, language, and the beautiful of the country itself. As someone who loves traveling and seeing new places, it was a lovely insight for me. For example, I had never heard about Seven Sister States, India before, so when I heard about that, I immediately Google and I marked the places where I wished to go one day.
Not to forget the other activities I got the chance to get involved in. The CSR program at Kg Orang Asli, celebrates Independence Day virtually, a few badminton sessions with my colleague as well as the Hari Sukan Negara MATRADE. It’s not that much due to the COVID19; however, it was awesome!
To conclude, I can say that it was six months full of sweet journey and a beautiful experience. I gained so much knowledge, and I wish that I would step my feet back there one day, inshaAllah. Thank you to my fantastic officers for your guidance. Till then, thank you MATRADE, INSP MIHAS 2021 Secretariat, CWSAA for the opportunities & thank you for reading.😄
